10/25 vs Danbury

Oct 26, 2025

ELMIRA, N.Y. – The Elmira Aviators (6-9-0-0) stomped out the Danbury Hat Tricks (7-6-1-2) 7-2 for their first sweep of the 2025-26 season at the LECOM Event Center Saturday night.

Elmira tied a club record with seven goals in a game, including four unanswered in the third period. The Aviators swept the Hat Tricks, marking the first time in team history that they have taken both games in a series on home ice.

The Aviators blasted off the runway with a pair of goals in the opening period, capped off by Quinn Pine scoring his first career NAHL goal. Pine took advantage of an error from the Danbury netminder, getting the puck in behind and sliding it home.

The entire fourth line was magical for the Aviators against the Hat Tricks. Greg Johnson, Shawn Laperriere and Pine all tallied multiple points on Saturday.

Johnson and Pine registered their first career points for the Aviators. Laperriere scored his first-ever goal.

The Hat Tricks rallied back to pull within one in the second period, but the Aviators answered with a raucous third.

Elmira fired off four in the final frame, including a pair of power-play goals. Max Campbell scored the last two, his first tallies since Sept. 25.

Head Coach Leeor Shtrom couldn’t have asked for a better start to his tenure as Aviator bench boss. His side picks up its first sweep of the season and first ever on home ice.

Thirteen different Aviators registered at least a point, a team high for this season.

Next weekend, the Aviators will travel north to take on the New Hampshire Mountain Kings. Game 1 is on Halloween night at 7 p.m. Game 2 is Saturday, Nov. 1, at 6 p.m.

The games can be streamed on NATV or listened to on WINGZ93.
