3/27 vs Northeast

Mar 29, 2026

CANTON, M.A. – The Elmira Aviators (20-27-5-4) were stifled offensively on Saturday night, falling 6-0 to the Northeast Generals (29-22-5-1) at the Canton Ice House.

Elmira and Northeast played an ugly first period. The teams combined for nine penalties, and both squads struggled on their respective power plays.

The Aviators had multiple, albeit brief, five-on-three opportunities in the opening period. Elmira could not capitalize on Northeast’s undisciplined play all night, going 0/10 on the man-advantage.

The Gens scored the lone goal in the opening period with Logan Poulin picking the top corner of the net during four-on-four action. Poulin went on to score a hat trick in the game and added an assist to make it a four-point night.

The score remained 1-0 throughout most of the second period, but then Northeast rattled off two goals in 17 seconds to take a commanding 3-0 lead. The Generals added a shorthanded goal to open up a 4-0 advantage before the middle period’s end.

Northeast kept the pedal to the metal in the third period, slotting another short-handed goal, then Trey Janssen’s first career NAHL tally to make it a 6-0 game.

The Aviators could not solve goaltender Will Mizenko as he made 36 saves en route to the shutout. The teams ended up combining for 19 penalties.

Elmira will try to shake off the bad result quickly when it heads on the road to play the Philadelphia Rebels on Tuesday, March 31.

The contest is the makeup game from the postponed matchup back on Jan. 24. Puck drop is slated for 3 p.m. Fans can stream the game on NATV or listen live on WINGZ93.
